Brandon Joseph Barash is an American actor. He is best known for his portrayal of mobster Johnny Zacchara on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.
Biography
Barash was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 4, 1979. He is the son of Jerry L. Barash, who is the President and CEO of Sysco Food Services of Ventura, and Susan G. Hughes. His stepfather is Judge Leonard Hughes III, and his stepmother is Karen M. Barash. Brandon has one brother, Jordan B. Barash, and one sister, Alison L. Barash. He has lived in Missouri, Texas, and California; and graduated from Memorial High School in Houston, Texas in 1998. Brandon is also Jewish.
Barash speaks Spanish fluently, and also plays piano. He has mastered stage combat, juggling, singing, and voice impressions. Barash is also very talented in sports, playing basketball, racquetball, baseball, football, fencing, and golf.
He is in a band with former GH cast mates - Scott Reeves (formerly Steve Webber), Steve Burton (formerly Jason Morgan), and Bradford Anderson (formerly Damian Spinelli). The band, called Port Chuck, went on a national tour in 2010. Barash has left 'GH' with his last scenes airing on in late April due to his desires to pursue other avenues. Reports comment possible avenues as his desire to him possibly wanting more time for the band (due to Scott Reeves being let go and Steve Burton getting an easier work schedule on Y&R) or possibly a desire to have a NBA career.
He is married to his former General Hospital co-star Kirsten Storms, whom he secretly wed in June 2013. On January 7, 2014, Brandon confirmed on Twitter that Kirsten had given birth to a baby girl, Harper Rose Barash.[1]
