Kristin Bergman was a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She was a Swedish opera singer who had an affair with the now late, Prince Mikkos Cassadine. She had two daughters Alexis, born Natasha and the late, Kristina.

The character has only appeared onscreen in flashbacks and has been mentioned several times as Alexis' mother and the mistress whom Mikkos loved.

Background

As a prodigee of Mikkos', she had a very successful career for about a decade. Mikkos tried to protect Kristin by hiding her, but Helena Cassadine, Mikkos' wife, caught up with Kristin eventually.

When her youngest daughter Kristina was still a baby, Helena killed Kristin. She slit her throat and ripped out her vocal cords in front of Alexis. Helena placed a stiletto in Kristin's hand so that when the authorities came, her death would look like a suicide.

Helena did not know of Kristina's existence when she murdered Kristin. Alexis hid Kristina and left her to help their mother. After watching Helena brutally murder her mother, Alexis returned to find her sister but she was missing. As a result of the trauma of seeing her mother murdered, Alexis developed partial amnesia and forgot her true identity. After Kristin's murder, Mikkos was forced to send his daughters into hiding.

The infant Kristina was given to the Carter family for protection, while Natasha's name was changed to Alexis. Alexis is taken into Mikkos' house to be raised as a poor relative and given the last name Davidovitch. Mikkos lies, claiming she is the daughter of his late sister, Sophia Cassadine-Davidovitch, and raises her in Greece with his sons.

In order to not rouse Helena's suspicion, Alexis grew up thinking her own father was a distant and cold uncle. Her eldest half-brother Stavros Cassadine tormented her, but her other half-brother Stefan Cassadine was her protector and gained her unwavering loyalty.

Kristina was later reunited with Alexis after Jasper Jacks found her in Europe. Alexis then told Kristina all she knew of their mother, including the diamond and sapphire necklace Kristin was wearing when Helena killed her.

In one last sadistic move, after Helena's own death, she gifted Alexis with the dagger she used to kill her mother.
