Det. Marcus Taggert was a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. He was portrayed by Réal Andrews.

Marcus Taggert grew up as a troubled kid in Brooklyn. He then met a police officer who was kind to him. His name was Deke Woods, and who happened to be the step-father of Sonny Corinthos. Deke took Marcus under his wing and made him want to become a police officer himself. He became Deke's rookie partner. Then, Deke was gunned down in an alley and Marcus was devastated. He vowed to get revenge on the man whom he blamed for Deke's death, Sonny Corinthos.

Marcus moved to Port Charles, New York and got a job at the PCPD. He took it upon himself to persecute and harass Sonny every chance he got. He was fond of Sonny's first wife Lily, and when she died in a car explosion meant for Sonny, that just added fuel to the fire. Marcus hated Sonny even more. Marcus then took in Lily's son Juan Santiago because of his fondness for his mother. When Sonny left town Taggert continued to harass Jason. He always refered to Jason as "Angry Boy".
