Sean Blakemore is an actor known for playing Shawn Butler on General Hospital since January 21, 2011, however he previously portrayed the short-term character of Chase Wright in November 2003.
Biography[]
On April 6, 2011, Blakemore signed a contract with ABC to continue his role full-time. On May 9, 2012, Blakemore was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role on General Hospital.
Actor Sean Blakemore moved from his hometown St. Louis to Los Angeles on July 19, 1998 to follow his dream of acting. Blakemore has also appeared on episodes of such series as The Unit, ER, Monk, The Shield, Cold Case, NCIS and Bones. He won Auds honors at the Hollywood Black Film Festival for his portrayal of Ric Jackson in the independent romantic drama Big Ain't Bad.
Blakemore also appeared in the 2002 film Dahmer, and TV movies Motives 2: Retribution and Blackout.
Blakemore celebrates his birthday on August 10, and has one brother, Ronnell, and five sisters, Kim, Sharon, Yvonne, Yvette, and Rechelle. He married Nadyia Jones on June 19, 2010. As of 2013, Soaps In Depth confirmed that the Blakemores are expecting their first child. Daughter Jersey Nariah was born in 2013. [1]

On May 18, 2015, it was confirmed that Blakemore would be leaving GH and his last day was on May 27, 2015, however he made a short return on November 19, 2015 and again on April 4, 2016.
On April 1, 2021, it was revealed that Blakemore would return to GH as Shawn. He returned to the series full-time on April 21, 2021.
In 2016, Blakemore won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
