Tracy Taylor was a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. He was the son of Diana Taylor and Phil Brewer and the legal son of Peter Taylor. He died shortly after birth in 1971.

BackgroundEdit

In 1969, Phil Brewer was in a car accident with his then-girlfriend Polly Prentice, and Polly died. Murder charges were brought against Phil, so he fled town. He returned to Port Charles later wearing a beard and using the alias Harold Williamson.

He got a job as a dishwasher at a local restaurant and started dating Diana Maynard. Diana found out who he truly was, but kept it a secret that she knew. She also did not tell Phil that the charges against him had been dropped. When Phil found out on his own, he was angry with Diana and left her.

Phil was in a car accident, and while in the hospital, Diana found out she was pregnant with Phil's baby. Also while he was in the hospital, Phil's (still legal) wife Jessie saw and recognized him. After Phil was released, Jessie, who had married Peter Taylor after Phil was presumed dead in his absence, went back to Phil. So, Diana and Peter turned to each other.

Although Phil left Jessie and wanted to go back to Diana when he found out she was pregnant, Diana married Peter. When she had the baby, she named him Tracy Taylor, a name that Phil hated. He said that Tracy was a girl's name. Diana hated Phil. She hated him so much that when Tracy came down with pneumonia, she refused to take him to the hospital because she knew she'd run into Phil, who was a doctor there. Having not been treated, Tracy died of pneumonia, and Diana was guilt-stricken.
